Kim's Awareness

Kimberly Ostien graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School in 2003. She was in the third track and received honors all four years. When it was getting close to graduate and awards were going to be given out, Kim felt that not enough recognition was given to the third track girls. They worked just as hard as the first and second track students. So when Kim passed away we remembered what she said, and decided to start a scholarship fund in Kim's name for girls in the third track who would work just as hard as she did.

Prendie faculty picks a girl at the end of her freshman year and awards the scholarship at the closing Mass. The first scholarship was awarded in 2004. Because of the tremendous donations we received and from the funds generated by our annual golf outing, we have been able to grant the scholarship to a new student every year since 2006. We thank everyone for the continuing out-pouring of love and contributions to the Kimberly Ostien Memorial Scholarship Fund.
